Software developer Bohdan Onufriychuk presented an application of his own development that searches for movies based on video clips.
«In today’s fast-paced digital world, entertainment meets technology in increasingly creative ways. Imagine coming across a mysterious video clip — perhaps on social media, through a friend’s sharing, or even a snippet while traveling — and instantly knowing what movie it’s from,» the developer described his product.
He notes that gone are the days when you had to manually search for a movie in search engines or ask friends to identify its title from a short clip. «Video-Shazam uses advanced machine learning algorithms and a large movie database to analyze and find the right video content in seconds. The result? Instant recognition that turns ordinary curiosity into a door to endless cinematic adventures,» the project description says.
How Video-Shazam works
The magic of Video-Shazam lies in its sophisticated technology, says Bogdan.
Upload your clip: Simply record or select a short video clip from any device. Whether it’s a scene from a blockbuster, an indie hit, or even a vintage classic, Video-Shazam can handle it all.
Instant Search and Information: In an instant, Video-Shazam shows you the movie title along with additional information like the release year, cast, director, and even links to trailers or streaming platforms. This seamless integration ensures that you not only recognize the movie, but also get to know it better.
The app’s intuitive design makes identifying movies as easy as a snap of your fingers. Whether you’re a tech-savvy millennial or a less digitally inclined moviegoer, Video-Shazam’s interface is accessible and easy to navigate.
According to the developer, future updates promise even more advanced recognition algorithms, augmented reality features, and deeper integration with global film archives.
