Ukrainian defense technology startup Vigilant Works has raised funding from venture capital fund Angel One. The investment marks the fund’s fourteenth deal in its two and a half years of operation and its fourth defense investment in 2026.
The investment was announced on Angel One’s social media. Financial details of the deal are not being disclosed at this time. The startup plans to use the funds received to further develop autonomous technologies, improve radar solutions, and expand its operations.
Vigilant Works specializes in creating autonomous ecosystems to counter unmanned aerial vehicles. The company’s first solution was the combat-proven Algiz-1 interceptor. Now, a team of engineers is working on the next generation of the system — Algiz-2, which is a high-speed autonomous interceptor capable of speeds exceeding 600 km/h. In parallel, the startup is developing its own autonomy technology stack and radar systems in Ukraine.
«We invest in technologies that solve critical problems on the battlefield. Vigilant Works transforms counter-drone operations from a reactive process to an autonomous system that covers the entire process — from target detection to interception,» said Ivan Petrenko, CEO of Angel One.
He also added that for the fund, combat testing of the development and the ability of the product to scale in line with the rapid evolution of threats in the sky were important selection criteria.
Vigilant Works is an official member of the BRAVE1 defense cluster, and the startup was previously selected to participate in the specialized program of the Ministry of Defense and EU4UA.
«For institutional investors, DefenceTech is a ‘red flag.’» Angel One fund portfolio grew by 400%, but DefenceTech has to be invested through syndicates
