Recently appointed Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov reported that «real-time R&D» allowed for the production of 40,000 interceptor drones in January.
He said this during a meeting with journalists, DOU writes. Fedorov noted that the strategic goal of the Ministry of Defense is to inflict losses on the Russians of more than 50,000 occupiers every month.
«Last month, 35,000 were killed — all these losses are verified on video. If we reach 50,000 — we will see what will happen to the enemy. They perceive people as a resource, the problems with which are already obvious,» says Mikhail Fedorov.
He also said that in February last year, a format for working with manufacturers of R&D interceptor drones in real time appeared. Within its framework, all companies that made interceptors were allowed to the Chernihiv direction — they received $20,000 for each downed Shahed drone.
«They began to develop, and the money „went“ after the downed shaheed. No one believed it then. But this month 40,000 interceptors will be delivered to the army,» the Minister of Defense claims.
According to him, the Defense Forces need a replacement for Chinese drones, such as the Mavic, and Ukrainian manufacturers are already testing an analogue that has the same camera and increased flight range. Fedorov also spoke about the intention to create drone assault units and called this an important initiative.
«Recently, Code 9.2. conducted a unique operation in Kupyansk. This tactic works, so the future is for drone assault units. You will hear more about them,» he added.
Earlier, Mykhailo Fedorov gave a speech in the Verkhovna Rada before the vote on his appointment as Minister of Defense. In it, he spoke about army reform, artificial intelligence, the Central Committee of the Armed Forces, the audit of the Ministry of Defense, and the de-occupation of his hometown.
