According to TechCrunch, WPAI developments included:
WPAI noted that CodeWP and AgentWP will no longer operate as before and will be integrated into Automattic’s offering. It is noted that the WPAI team will join Automattic to lead the work on AI in WordPress. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
«They will work to test, build and integrate innovative AI solutions into the core ecosystem to redefine how users and developers work with WordPress,» Automattic said.
In its blog, WPAI announced that the company will focus on building artificial intelligence solutions for the WordPress ecosystem.
«This includes developing AI standards for WordPress, improving the core functionality of the platform, and building tools to help users build and manage better websites. We will work closely with the WordPress community to thoughtfully implement these improvements while preserving the values of open source», — WPAI said.
Automattic already offers an AI writing assistant, as well as a tool that can help you write concise posts. The deal with WPAI is Automattic’s second in two months. Last month, the company acquired a competitor to Ukrainian Grammarly for developers called Harper, which checks grammar locally on devices.
