«The employer asks if I have a reservation… This is the client’s requirement. Maybe I missed some market trends or lagged behind the wave, but my personal opinion is that it’s as if the employer should offer reservation as an option or a «bonus», and not the other way around. I think that at this rate, people will start asking about their own household mini-EW or anti-drone rifle in the garage. Or, maybe, their own mobile fire team on the payroll. «We cover 50% of the cost for our own MVG once a quarter,» the tester ironically says .

Oleksandr added that he personally has no complaints about the recruiter. «He just does his job (satisfies the client’s wishes). The communication was very warm and without masks. Here, I even want to express my respect for his tact.
A discussion has arisen around the situation. In the comments to Oleksandr’s post, community representatives express their opinions about the situation.

The recruiter formulates the request a little differently, but the essence of the request is clear. And such a request is not uncommon now, from the customer,» comments Fapkhite Yevhen O.
Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Volodymyr Tuluman states: «The trend is already starting to emerge. Several people said that most companies are asking if there is a postponement or reservation, or if they need to make a reservation.»
The founder of the recruitment agency Anastasia Voitenko said that customers really make such demands on candidates. «Unfortunately, as a recruitment agency, we encountered such nonsense from the customer… I wanted the marketing director (preferably male and under 40, which is already a violation of the law) to be booked, because I couldn’t provide a booking myself. And I had to constantly travel on business trips around Ukraine. We terminated the cooperation agreement with such an inadequate employer,» she said.
However, users note that the recruiter’s request could not have been specifically about reservations, but also about options for deferring service — having many children, caring for a sick relative, disability, etc.
