Two Ukrainian startups have announced a technology partnership: Vuzoll, a developer of robot assistants for the service business, is integrating voice technologies from Respeecher, a Kyiv-based company whose AI voices have already been heard in The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and The Brutalist.
The goal of the integration is to replace the standard synthetic voice in Vuzoll robots with a realistic, emotionally expressive one. The idea is that the robots should not just respond to requests, but communicate naturally.
Vuzoll develops universal robot assistants for clinics, salons, hotels, cafes and showrooms. The company has received about $500,000 in investment, mostly from the founder’s own funds. The team was preparing to deploy 10 robots in partner businesses for testing, and is also planning to enter the markets of Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic and the UAE.
Respeecher was founded in Kyiv in 2018 by Dmitry Belevtsov, Grant Riber, and Oleksiy Serdyuk. The company is best known for its work with the voices of Mark Hamill and James Earl Jones for Disney+. Clients include CD Projekt, Warner Music, and MacPaw. todor3d
