The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has defined technical criteria for the creation of heavy aerial drones designed to evacuate wounded servicemen. Ukraine has become the first country in the world to systematically develop the direction of evacuation UAVs.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this on social networks. It is noted that the Ministry of Defense and the Brave1 defense innovation cluster are working together to implement this technology.
Such devices should come to the rescue in conditions when all paths to positions are mined or completely cut off by the enemy. The agency and the innovation cluster are attracting developers and providing them with support for the implementation of the project.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense has prescribed basic requirements for new drones. In particular, the board must be guaranteed to transport a payload weighing at least 130 kg to a distance of 15 km. Also, a mandatory requirement is the presence of an integrated communication system containing at least three alternative types of channels to ensure the survival and controllability of the drone in conditions of active operation of enemy electronic warfare equipment.
Previously, heavy air systems have been used to rescue people. In particular, the Ukrainian hexacopter "Ayudag-6" from Gurzuf Defence , which was originally created for transporting cargo and is part of the Heavy Shot family, was specially adapted to rescue a soldier from the front line.
