We call it a “bureaucracy killer.” Danylo Tsvok told how AI should replace paperwork in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to Danyl Tsvok, head of the Defense AI Center "A1", automation of routine tasks will allow officers to focus on strategic goals instead of filling out standard documents.
In an interview with LB, Danylo Tsvok noted that the army has an urgent need to reduce the administrative burden. The center's developments are aimed at automating work with documentation, which the team calls a "bureaucracy killer." In addition to technical efficiency, the developers pay significant attention to user trust in AI. It is important that systems at the technical level can argue and explain their decisions so that officers can check the logic of automated processes.
"We call it the 'bureaucracy killer' (the destroyer of bureaucracy, red tape — ed.). People in the military should focus on the highest priority tasks. Everything related to paperwork should be automated. Of course, the question of trust in AI arises. Therefore, it is important that systems at the technical level argue and explain their answers," said Tsvek.
The head of "A1" emphasized that today's focus of defense technologies should shift from exclusively "hardware" to software, in particular operating systems capable of making decisions based on large amounts of data. This is critically important, since Ukraine now possesses the world's largest array of modern war data. It is precisely the presence of such experience in confronting Russian aggression that gives Ukrainian developers a unique advantage in creating competitive systems.
