On the night of July 24, Ukrainian drones simultaneously struck at least four Wildberries logistics facilities — in the Leningrad Region, St. Petersburg, Tver, and occupied Simferopol.
The main blow fell on the Utkina Zavod logistics park in the village of Novosaratovka, Vsevolozhsky District, Leningrad Region — the facility is located just outside the administrative border of St. Petersburg and actually serves the city, which is why it is often called the «Wildberries warehouse in St. Petersburg.»
The drone also hit another warehouse of the company — directly in Shushari, Pushkinsky District of St. Petersburg, that is, where in January 2024 the largest fire in the company’s history already occurred.
Separately, there were reports of an attack on the Wildberries logistics center in Tver, where a large-scale fire broke out. There was also an attack on the company’s sorting center in occupied Simferopol, which was evacuated according to security protocols; explosions were also heard that night in other cities of occupied Crimea — Sudak, Yevpatoria, and Sevastopol.
That same night, a UAV destroyed the structure of one of the warehouses of the Severnaya poultry farm in Sinyavino, Kirov District — a facility not related to Wildberries.
The series of attacks has been ongoing since July 18. This is the fifth recorded wave of attacks on Wildberries' infrastructure in a week:
According to Kommersant’s calculations based on open data (excluding the July 24 attack), the attacks affected about 10–14% of Wildberries’ entire logistics infrastructure, and about 8% of the capacity (444,000 square meters) was completely disabled. Experts estimate the cost of damaged real estate at 60 billion rubles, and restoring the same amount of space could cost about 35.5 billion rubles.
Experts interviewed by Kommersant believe that the quickest solution would not be to build new complexes, but to restore damaged facilities, following the example of how the company acted after the fire at a warehouse in Shushary in 2024, when losses amounted to 10 billion rubles, and compensation to sellers amounted to 34.9 billion rubles. Other possible steps include preferential storage at warehouses in the Volga region, the Urals, and Siberia, and expanding cooperation with third-party logistics operators.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened criminal proceedings under the article on terrorist acts. The Ukrainian side insists that the Wildberries warehouses were used to ensure the supply of sanctioned components for the production of drones and navigation equipment, which made them a military target.
