On the night of July 30, drones attacked the Wildberries sorting center in Penza, causing a large-scale fire.

A logistics complex with an area of about 90,000 square meters was hit — one of Wildberries' key distribution hubs serving the Volga Federal District. Employees of the sorting center were evacuated.

«Open burning is observed on the territory of the warehouse, firefighters are fighting the fire,» said the governor of the Penza region, Oleg Melnychenko. According to ASTRA, air raid sirens were also activated in the city after the attack.

The Wildberries press service reported that due to the attack, the reception of deliveries and shipment of orders were temporarily transferred to other company facilities.

The chronology of attacks on warehouses of the largest Russian marketplace looks like this:

  • July 18 — Kotovsk (Tambov region) and Elektrostal (Moscow region).
  • July 20 — Podolsk, Koledino, an oil depot in Lviv, the Hryvno industrial park in Motovylov, a warehouse in Domodedovo (all — Moscow region).
  • July 22 — Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol Territory) and Krasnodar.
  • July 23 — warehouse in the Voronezh region.
  • July 24 — four facilities at once: the Utkina Zavod logistics park in Novosaratovka (Leningrad region, 3 victims), another warehouse in Shushari (St. Petersburg — the same place where in January 2024 the largest fire in the company’s history already occurred), a logistics center in Tver, and a sorting center in occupied Simferopol.
  • July 25 — warehouse in Yekaterinburg on Perspektivnaya Street.
  • July 29 — Ryazan: The sorting complex «Ryazan: Tyushevskaya» in the Ryazansky industrial park was virtually destroyed — the roof collapsed during a fire.
  • July 30 — Sorting center in Penza (90 thousand m²), one of the key hubs for the Volga region. It is also reported that another Wildberries warehouse in Sarapul (Udmurtia) was hit.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian deftech company FirePoint is giving away merch and Instagram among those followers who guess which Wildberries lineup will be hit next. «Friends, who wants to test your intuition and get our cool merch? Write in the comments under this post which Wildberries will be hit next. Among those who guess, we will give away a set of merch (keychain, patch, T-shirt and pin). The conditions are simple: be subscribed to our Instagram and official Telegram channel (link is in the profile header). We will publish the results immediately after the next enemy logistics hub is hit,» the company’s post says .

In total, the Russian marketplace has 209 logistics facilities with a total area of over 5.6 million sq. m.

As reported by Rosmedia, in the meantime, the marketplace’s management is trying to move its logistics facilities to Kazakhstan. The company is urgently looking for new premises amid Ukrainian drone strikes.

RWB Group, which owns Wildberries, has begun an active search for warehouse space in Kazakhstan. The company is considering leasing options of 100,000 sq m or even a willingness to buy out all vacant facilities in the country.

The main goal of the marketplace is to remove part of its capacity from the threat of new attacks by Ukrainian drones, which have previously struck the company’s Russian warehouses.

Currently, two facilities for the Russian giant are already being built in Kazakhstan: over 100 thousand sq. m in the city of Almaty and about 160 thousand sq. m in the capital Astana (commissioning is planned for next year).

The head of the deftech company Fire Point, Denis Shtilerman, said in an interview with Dmitry Gordon that the Defense Forces plan to completely paralyze the work of the largest Russian marketplaces Wildberries and Ozon in order to destroy the supply of occupation troops and provoke the collapse of the Russian banking system. Against the background of regular attacks, Wildberries has already hidden the tag «Everything for the SVO» from the platform, under which more than 200,000 goods were previously sold.
