According to him, WIX is a bit different from Ukrainian companies. «In my opinion, Ukrainian companies build their business largely on local teams and, probably, to a greater extent on the local market,» Zohar explained in an interview with Forbes.
In his opinion, many international companies in Ukraine perceive it as an offshore office that simply has to supply lines of code. «We have a different approach. Our Ukrainian offices are, without exaggeration, our largest innovation center outside of Israel. Not only developers work there, but a full range of specialists. The same roles that are in Tel Aviv are in Kyiv. For me, Ukraine is not just an offshore „arm“ of WIX. It is a large part of the mosaic that makes up Wix itself,» the top manager noted.
Wix currently employs nearly 600 people in its Ukrainian office, with up to 200 Ukrainians working in its Krakow office due to the war. «We believe that now is a good time to increase investment in Ukraine. In early 2025, we announced the launch of a new design team in Kyiv, where we plan to hire 50 people. We are about halfway there,» Zohar said.
In Ukraine, according to him, WIX has the second largest R&D office, consisting of 298 engineers and 198 people in the support team.
Since 2013, WIX has invested over $200 million in Ukraine. «We plan additional investments of millions of dollars in 2025,» says Zohar.
