As NIX reports in its press release, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, their volunteers have transferred equipment, ammunition, vehicles, medical supplies and other items worth over UAH 1.6 billion to the front. Over the course of three years, their activities have transformed from a chaotic movement into a systematic process with clear algorithms for responding to requests. However, recently, electronic warfare systems have been among the most difficult challenges.
The choice of an electronic warfare system cannot be called a typical purchase, as in the case of helmets or first-aid kits. There is no universal solution on the market, and the effectiveness depends not only on the characteristics of the equipment, but also on the training of the soldiers. Volunteers emphasize: sometimes in a specific section of the front it is more important to create a «dome» of protection, in another — to jam enemy drones, and in a third — at least to warn the military about the approach of UAVs to give time for evacuation.
It happens that after discussing the request with manufacturers or other units, the military themselves abandon the first idea.
«There are cases when they refused to purchase because it turned out that the system would not help in specific conditions, but would only create a false sense of security,» NIX notes.

The company adds: even if the required system is identified, the procurement process itself remains lengthy and complex — this is expensive equipment that is made to order over several weeks.
Now, NIX volunteers effectively act as a communications hub between different units. They coordinate specifications, get advice from other militaries and manufacturers, and coordinate procurement. This approach helps avoid mistakes and save resources.
According to NIX, with each year of the war, the military’s demands change. If in 2022 the main thing was the rapid procurement of basic items, now it is about complex technologies that require a professional approach.

The market for such systems in Ukraine is actively developing, but there is still a lack of specialists and standardized solutions. Therefore, the role of volunteers who can properly organize the process and explain the risks becomes critically important.
NIX is convinced that the time and effort spent on checking characteristics, consulting, and coordinating with manufacturers will always pay off, because mistakes in choosing electronic warfare equipment can be very expensive.
