YASNO introduces Predict+ AI platform for energy consumption forecasting: how it works

Energy brand YASNO has begun cooperation with the American company Tigo Energy to implement the intelligent platform Predict+. The system, based on artificial intelligence, helps to more accurately predict electricity consumption and better balance the energy system in wartime conditions.

What is Predict+?

Tigo Predict+ is a software solution that uses neural networks to analyze large amounts of data. The platform collects information from various sources: weather forecasts, current weather conditions, historical customer consumption and generation data, as well as operational indicators from previous days.

Based on this data, AI generates several forecast scenarios that are updated in real time depending on changes in temperature, wind, or light intensity.

Typically, forecasting algorithms are based on stable network operation. However, for YASNO, Tigo Energy specialists adapted the neural network by adding new variables that take into account specific Ukrainian challenges — in particular, damage to energy infrastructure.

«The Predict+ neural network allows us to quickly process real-time data streams, including network damage factors. This allows us to rebuild models so that future predictions are significantly more accurate,» explains Archie Robustoff, vice president of software at Tigo.

The system was tested in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which was chosen due to its complex consumer structure and large number of prosumers (consumers who also generate energy). After a successful pilot, YASNO is moving on to integrate historical data from other regions of the brand’s presence.

What will this give to customers?

According to Serhiy Kovalenko, CEO of YASNO, the implementation of the platform will reduce the costs of settling imbalances. «This means better planning, more efficient use of resources, and even more reliable service for our clients,» he noted.

Reference

YASNO is an energy brand that serves over 2.5 million families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions, as well as over 64 thousand legal clients.

Tigo Energy (founded in 2007) is an American company, a world leader in the development of intelligent systems for solar energy, combining hardware solutions (MLPE) with cloud-based energy monitoring software.
