The developers announced the decision to shut down the project on social media. According to them, achieving stable service performance required significant marketing budgets, which the team was unable to attract at this stage.
«The project has not yet become profitable, and to bring it to stable growth, significant marketing budgets are needed, which we do not have. We also failed to attract investments at this stage: the funds expect global growth of 20% each month and already existing income,» the Ramle team noted.
The founders also shared the economics of attracting an audience that was concentrated mainly in Ukraine, particularly in Kyiv and Lviv. According to the developer, when targeted advertising was launched directly on mobile devices, one installation with onboarding cost about $1. However, this did not guarantee retention: a significant portion of users left the application within a few days.
As a reminder, the ramle.app platform was launched in April by Ukrainian developer Mykhailo Savchuk. The idea for its creation arose after he moved to a new city and needed to form a new circle of friends. Unlike standard dating apps, Ramle focused not on evaluating appearance, but on joint activities — from coffee and hiking to sports or programming — with subsequent offline meetings.
