The newly created agency will be coordinated by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
"The State Agency of Ukraine PlayCity has been established as a central executive body, the activities of which are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation, and which implements state policy in the field of organizing and conducting gambling and the lottery sector," Melnyk said in a statement.
"We will constantly flog them," Fedorov said in an interview with the YouTube channel "Pryama Chervona", announcing reforms in the field of gambling licensing after the liquidation of KRAIL.
As noted by the Ministry of Digital Affairs, their most important task is to digitalize the issuance of work licenses and create tools for clear market control and the fight against illegal casinos.
"The state loses up to UAH 10 billion due to the shadow market. Digitalization of the sector will help eradicate corruption, make the market transparent, and increase budget revenues, which will then go to the needs of the Defense Forces," the ministry added.
They also added that the next step will be the appointment of the head of the state agency and the approval of regulations on the activities of the new institution.
Recall that in early January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed bill No. 9256-d, which provides for the liquidation of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAL) and a ban on the participation of the military and military themes in gambling business advertising.
Then, on February 14, the Cabinet of Ministers transferred to the Ministry of Digital Affairs the functions of ensuring the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of organizing and conducting gambling and lottery activities.
