"If such UAVs go into series production, we are waiting for fuel pumps on OLX." Military expert commented on Western components in Geran-3 jet drones

During yesterday’s massive attack on the Ukrainian capital, the Russians used Shahed-238 («Geran-3») kamikaze drones. Among their wreckage were components from Western manufacturers.
The Iranian University of Aerospace Sciences and Technology «Ashura» publiclypresented the new Shahed-238 jet attack drone back in 2023. Russia, which localizes the production of «Shaheeds» under the name «Geran», began to actively use such drones in the summer of 2025.
According to military analyst, engineer, and communications and drone expert Sergei «Flash» Bezkrestnov, this is due to the Russians' use of jet «Shaheeds» and is a response to the use of interceptor drones.
The Shahed jet, known in Russia as Geran-3, was also used during the attack on Kyiv on August 28. Among the wreckage of the downed Russian drones, remnants of Western components were found, in particular a compact turbojet engine.
Clash Report stated that it was a PBS TJ40-G2 engine, but the Czech company’s official account denied this claim.
«PBS GROUP categorically rejects the claim that an engine manufactured by the company was involved in the attack on Kyiv. We supply our Ukrainian partners only with fully documented and traceable engines. Since the beginning of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, PBS GROUP has not supplied any products to Russia and trades exclusively with verified customers. We categorically do not supply products to countries or organizations that are on international sanctions lists,» the company emphasized.
In the wreckage of the Shahed jet, an engine control unit from the Chinese manufacturer Swivel SW400 Pro and a German Bosch 0-580 fuel pump, which is commonly used in civilian vehicles, were also spotted.
«If the issue can still be resolved with engines from the Czech Republic, then it is unrealistic to block fuel pumps for cars. If such UAVs go into series production, we are waiting for fuel pumps on OLX. Almost new with low mileage,» commented Serhiy «Flash» on the finds.
Components from downed Russian drones being put up for sale on the Internet is not a new thing for Ukraine. It was previously reported that websites periodically advertise the sale of engines from Shahed-136 or Geran-2 suicide drones. You can find them with «minimum mileage in Ukraine» or «beaten and broken.»
