The new head of the State Special Communications Service, Oleksandr Potiy, named several priority tasks in his position, including the launch of a new Comprehensive Information Protection System.
"We will launch a new model for building the CSI, which has been awaited for a long time. We need to take the last step towards practical implementation. I want to ensure the stable functioning and modernization of the cryptographic information protection system. This is an important element of the security of government communications and public administration. This is one of our main tasks," said Oleksandr Potiy in an interview with Forbes.
Among other priority tasks, he identified uninterrupted provision of unmanned systems for the security and defense sector, as well as compliance by mobile operators with network operation requirements during power outages.
Regarding the latter, Potiy clarified that his department is looking for a compromise solution together with the operators.
"We are working with operators to provide suggestions on how to implement this task. The result will be an acceptable solution that, on the one hand, takes into account the technical capabilities of operators, and on the other hand, meets the requirements. As in a normal state, we are looking for a compromise... The state must understand the technical limitations of operators and find a way in which we can still complete the task. This can be solved, among other things, through a phased or regional increase in the hours that communication should work during outages," the head of the department explained.
We will remind you that in turn, the former head of the State Special Communications Service, Yuriy Myronenko, was officially appointed Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation.
"I cannot deny that a data leak occurred." The SBU's cybersecurity department is conducting a cyber investigation. The State Special Communications Service assures that the data leak is not confirmed
