Ukrainian-founded online coliving platform Outpost.me announced a merger with its competitor in the market, June Homes, and the creation of a joint company, OJH Holdings, which is set to become «the largest coliving operator in the United States.»
According to the profile website connectcre, the combined company, which will manage approximately 4,000 real estate properties in New York, Boston, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin, will be headed by Outpost CEO Sergey Starostin.
Instead, June Homes CEO Mauricio Zuniga will become president of the new company.
On his Facebook page, Serhiy Starostin wrote that the work on the unification and negotiations lasted about six months.
«We are proud to officially become one of the leading coliving operators in the United States,» he noted.
Starostin also added that the coliving model is characterized by its accessibility for young professionals aged 20–30 who want to obtain housing on flexible terms.
Recall that Starostin launched his business with partners from Ukraine in 2016 after moving to New York. The coliving model is a good option for young people or immigrants without a long credit history who face difficulties in renting housing.
