Forward Deployed Engineer Igor Taratayko developed the MAKEUP Info mobile application, which uses artificial intelligence technologies to help users quickly analyze the composition of cosmetics and select care according to individual needs.
The idea for creating the product arose from a real demand from consumers who find it difficult to navigate complex chemical terms on labels.
"I can finally share what I've been working on for the past few months. The idea came from a simple problem: most people don't know what exactly is in cosmetics, how individual ingredients affect the skin, and which product is best for them," says Igor Taratayko on LinkedIn.
The main goal of MAKEUP Info is to help the user make a more informed choice of cosmetics, based not only on the marketing promises of manufacturers, but also on the actual composition of the product and individual skin characteristics.
Main features
Scanning and recognition: instant analysis of the composition of a cosmetic product and automatic identification of INCI ingredients.
AI product evaluation: detailed analysis of each component, assessment of its potential benefits, possible risks, and provision of recommendations.
Skin analysis from a photo: scans the user's face to determine skin types and characteristics.
Personalized selection: generation of product selection advice based on skin condition and specific cosmetic composition.
"Development is still ongoing, but a beta version of iOS with basic functionality is already available for testing. I would be very grateful for any feedback, reports of errors found, and ideas for improving the application," the project author notes.
