At around 2 a.m. on December 12, users around the world began reporting that ChatGPT and Sora were down. The company later posted a statement acknowledging the issue: «ChatGPT, Sora, and API are down. We have identified the issue and are working to resolve it.»
Currently, CharGPT claims to be working correctly.
Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Messenger, and WhatsApp experienced a large-scale outage the day before, on the evening of December 11.
According to the Downdetector service, more than 96,000 complaints about Facebook and 69,000 about Instagram are being recorded in the US. The reasons for the outage are still unknown.
Users complained about the inability to send messages on WhatsApp, as well as problems logging in to Facebook and Instagram.

«DownDetector shows large and sudden spikes in complaints about the performance of Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. DownDetector’s Instagram page, for example, has had more than 70,000 reports of problems with the platform, suggesting it’s a widespread problem. As for Facebook, more than 100,000 messages have been received,» the publication writes.
As Reuters notes, some Facebook and Instagram users started writing on the X social network that they encountered an error when logging in: messages appeared that «something went wrong» and that «Meta is working to fix the error.»
Subsequently, Meta commented on the failure.
«We understand that a technical issue is affecting some users' ability to access our apps. We are working to get everything back to normal as soon as possible and apologize for the inconvenience,» the company said in a statement on the X social network.
