"Jokes of the level of a third-grader in junior high school." Azhnyuk criticized the trend of abusive names for Ukrainian drones

Ukrainian tech entrepreneur, founder of miltech startups The Fourth Law and Odd Systems, Yaroslav Azhnyuk, criticized the trend of obscene and abusive names for Ukrainian military equipment, which is supported by some companies in the industry.

He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

«The trend of swearing names for drones is rock bottom. This is a demonstration of bad taste and the normalization of bad taste, to which a healthy society should respond with complete rejection and condemnation. Jokes and analogies of the level of a third-grader in junior high school are not worthy of the heroism of the Ukrainian army and the Ukrainian nation,» the tech entrepreneur expressed his opinion.

In this context, he gave the example of his own companies, which use, among other things, the names of Ukrainian artists of the sixties who fought against the Soviet system to name drones and other equipment.

«We have true companions of the past and present, after whom we can name our weapons, units, and streets. We have specifically Ukrainian symbols and meanings that are deep and meaningful. „Aeneas“ motors, „Lyuty“ drones, the „Stus/Kurbas/Lupynis“ product line in honor of the sixties and the executed revival, the „Dzhankoy“ radio and television company, and many others — these are examples to follow and admire,» added Yaroslav Azhnyuk.

He urged his colleagues in the industry not to support or encourage bad taste.

As you know, last fall, the Ukrainian company SkyFall introduced the modular P1-Sun interceptor drone, which has already achieved considerable success.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian defense-tech startup OSIRIS AI has unveiled a new interceptor drone, the OSIRIS UEB-1.

Ukrainian miltech company BlueBird, in turn, has started selling the Bebradron tactical UAV .
