Ukrainian company Rover Tech announced that its armored unmanned platform «Zmiy Logistichy» has received codification according to NATO standards and has been adopted by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. What can this drone do?
Codification of military equipment is the process of standardization and assignment of a unique code, which simplifies the identification, procurement and logistics of equipment. Rover Tech notes that after codification in accordance with the strengthened Resolution No. 345 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, military units can submit official requests for the purchase of the «Snake» through the Ministry of Defense, which significantly speeds up the supply process.
The new ground drone «Zmiy Logistichny» weighs no more than 650 kg, and is capable of transporting up to 500 kg of cargo in the luggage compartment or towing a trailer weighing up to 1,050 kg, reports «Militarnyi».
«On test sites, the platform covered 10 km with a load of 500 kg and transported three people, losing only 8% of the battery charge. „Logistics Snake“ was easy to codify, since it is already actively used at the front, and its reliability has been confirmed in real combat conditions,» notes Rovertek co-founder, Borys Drozhak.
The armor allows the drone to withstand drops from attack drones and hits against anti-personnel mines. The platform has a range of up to 30 km and is capable of speeds of up to 14 km per hour on hard surfaces and up to 13 km per hour on difficult terrain.

The remote control allows you to control the platform at a distance of up to 2.9 km, in open terrain. However, it is also possible to install control via optical fiber, with a range of up to 6 km.
Rover Tech says it plans to scale production of the Logistic Snake to over 50 units per month to meet the needs of the Defense Forces.
In addition to the logistics platform, Rover Tech produces a modification of the «Snake» for demining, which has been updated to version v1.2. In September, it became known that the «Snake» passed field tests and received a certificate of conformity. The machine can operate in conditions of low and medium vegetation and is capable of destroying anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, as well as removing stretch marks.
