Back in July, Polish technology publication Telepolis reported that Poland had been excluded from the service’s general «European zone.» From now on, Starlink terminals with Polish registration will only be able to be used abroad for 30 days, after which identity verification will be required.
At the same time, there have been no changes regarding other European countries — if a user from the EU purchased Starlink in their country, they can safely use it anywhere in the European Union without any confirmation.
New customers have already been affected by these changes starting July 14, and for existing customers they will take effect on August 17.
Censor.Net emphasizes that the change in the rules for using terminals registered in Poland will depend on the form of their registration.
The new restrictions will not apply to terminals that the Polish government centrally purchased and transferred to Ukraine, including all state and corporate contracts.
However, the innovations may result in restrictions for private and volunteer terminals. The changes may affect devices purchased by individuals in Poland and volunteer organizations in this country.
After 30 days of operation, the system will require the owner to undergo additional verification or offer to switch to a more expensive international tariff plan. Thus, Ukrainian military personnel could potentially face these problems if they received their Starlink terminals from Polish volunteers.
