Two Ukrainian miltech companies, DevDroid and Rovertech, in August created the Zmiy Droid 12.7 ground robotic complex, which combines the Zmiy platform from Rovertech and the Wolly 12.7 combat module from DevDroid.
The ground platform has high cross-country ability, can overcome difficult off-road conditions, sand, snow, shallow water obstacles. The platform body is armored, has protection against anti-personnel mines and can withstand being hit by several FPV drones.
The Zmiy Droid 12.7 control module allows the operator to control the platform and the combat module simultaneously. It is equipped with artificial intelligence systems that are capable of capturing and tracking a target in automatic mode.
«Such ground-based robotic attack systems have proven themselves well in the conditions of modern warfare. The facts of the defeat of the Russian MT-LB, a multi-purpose light armored tractor, using the Droid TW 12.7 reconnaissance and strike missile system, have been documented,» the Ministry of Defense reported.
The department added that an example of the successful combat use of the Droid TW 12.7 NRC was maintaining a firing position for 45 consecutive days. During this task, the NRC was returned to the crew every two days, for just a few hours, for maintenance, replenishment of ammunition, and charging of the battery.
