IT-guys Mykola Kovach and Vasyl Yugas from Ivano-Frankivsk, who created a useful Telegram bot «Znestrumko» half a year ago, which reminds you to turn off the lights, went to new regions and told dev.ua how they develop the product.

«We have now created a new functionality and are launching new areas. We completely rewrote the architecture, added reminders to turn it on, integration with Google calendar (top feature), launched bots in Lviv, Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, connected monetization and already have more than 40,000 active users in Ivano-Frankivsk,» — said dev.ua Mykola Kovach.

Key features of the bot:

  • Notification of changes in light-off schedules: Users can select one or more groups that the bot will monitor and automatically notify of all changes. Alerts often come earlier than official sources of information report.
  • Reminder before turning off the lights: The bot will remind you in a certain time (15, 30 minutes or other) before turning off the lights. This will allow you to prepare: boil a kettle, charge your phone or switch to backup power.
  • Reminder to turn on the lights: The bot can also remind you when to turn on the power, so you don’t forget to turn off the backup power or connect devices to the network.
  • Integration with Google Calendar: For the convenience of users, all calving schedules can be added to Google Calendar. This is especially relevant for people who plan their lives in conditions of frequent power outages, in particular, for Haitians who need to clearly coordinate their activities.

Now, in addition to the developers' hometown, the bot is also available for residents of the following areas:

The developers are actively working on expanding the availability of the bot to other regions of Ukraine so that more people can use this useful service. The current list of regions can be viewed here .

«Znestrumko» works on a freemium basis: the basic functionality, which includes notifications about changes in shutdown schedules, is available for free. Access to additional features, such as reminders and integration with Google Calendar, requires a minimum one-time annual fee, which allows developers to maintain the project technically and scale.

The developers plan to continue expanding «Znestrumko⚡️» to new areas and improve functionality. They are open to feedback and suggestions from users and are ready to constantly improve the service to make it even more useful and convenient for Ukrainians.
