Almost 10 years ago, the hosting market was focused on hardware infrastructure: customers often purchased their own equipment, which required significant capital investments. Dedicated server rental services were expensive, and the market was not yet saturated with offers.
The founder of the company, Denis Dunaevsky, from the city of Khmelnytskyi, dreamed of creating something more than just hosting when he was still a teenager. «This story began when I was only 14 years old. Then I was creating websites and renting hosting from third-party providers. However, I quickly realized that this industry has huge potential for growth. Having decided to act independently, I set about creating my own hosting service, and Hostweek.net was born — my first company, which I sold when I was only 16 years old.
«I then studied system administration at Lviv Polytechnic National University and always believed that hosting is not only about technology, but also about support, trust, and stability,» says Denys.
Indeed, since its founding, the company has managed to become one of the market leaders, serving over 170,000 customers worldwide.
Zomro started as a small startup in Ukraine, but thanks to cooperation with partners from Western Europe, it quickly reached the international level. Initially, the founder of the company, Denis, was responsible for everything: from finding equipment to creating a website. Zomro started in a small one-room office for 4 employees in Khmelnytskyi and with basic servers in a data center in the Netherlands.
Prices for services were much lower then than now: for example, VPS Starter cost only 0.99 euros per month (0.25 GB of RAM and 1 GB of disk). A year later, it became clear that a more spacious office was needed. The company moved to a new premises, where 18 employees worked. Today, Zomro is a team of over 50 specialists with offices in Riga, Khmelnytskyi, Delft, Cluj-Napoca.
In 2017, the company entered into an important partnership with a data center in the Netherlands, which allowed it to improve the quality of services for European customers. «We have always tried to be closer to customers, offering affordable tariffs, 24/7 support and the ability to scale resources when necessary,» adds the company founder.
Zomro is not stopping there. In the coming years, the company plans to expand its server infrastructure in the USA and Poland, launch new services such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Load Balancers. Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is a secure space in the cloud where companies can store their data and run applications, having full control over access. Load Balancers are a system that distributes user traffic between multiple servers so that websites and applications run quickly and without failures. They help ensure stability even with a large number of visitors. Also, security is enhanced through the implementation of new solutions.
