Ukrainian developers have created a deep strike drone that flies 2,100 km. What "Zozulya" can do

Ukrainian drone manufacturer Warbirds of Ukraine presented the deep strike drone «Zozulya» with a flight range of 2100 km at the Brave1 Defense Tech Valley 2025 exhibition. We tell you what this bird can do.
«Our drone can take off from an airfield or from another prepared site. It can also be launched from a catapult, which is manufactured by another company and into which we integrated this drone. At the same time, we leave the chassis on the drone, since before being transferred to the troops, drones undergo mandatory flight tests and testing,» Vadym, a representative of the Warbirds of Ukraine company, told Oborontsi.

The drone has a maximum take-off weight of 170 kg and can carry a warhead from 10 to 50 kg, depending on the mission range. If the Zozulya can drop from 10 to 15 kg of warhead at a distance of 2,100 km, then with a maximum warhead of 50 kg, the drone operates at a distance of up to 1,100 km.
The drone’s cruising speed is 130 km/h. The maximum speed is 180 km/h.
The bird is equipped with a single-cylinder internal combustion engine, but in the future, the developers do not rule out integrating a hybrid power plant into the UAV.
«Zozulya» uses various CRPA antennas. The drone is equipped with a visual navigation system and has a system for counteracting enemy spoofing. In the flight controller of the aircraft, the developers used an inertial system of their own design, which, in the absence of GPS, avoids large deviations from the course for a long time.

For the operators, the developers used a unified interface that is compatible with the company’s other drones. This allowed to speed up the retraining process and simplify the training of pilots.
The cost of the drone is about $40,000. The company is currently working on upgrading the communication and some other drone systems.
«Zozulya» has already been tested and codified by the Ministry of Defense. The military is already purchasing these drones — the company has produced about 100 drones.
Warbirds of Ukraine envisions the Zozulya not only as a kamikaze drone, but also as a reconnaissance aircraft, repeater, ammunition carrier, or interceptor drone.
