Military counterintelligence officers of the Security Service have exposed an FSB agent who worked at a company producing unmanned systems for the Defense Forces in western Ukraine. The resident of Lviv region, who was recruited on Telegram with the offer of easy money, tried to correct a Russian missile strike on the company's workshops and warehouses.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU. According to the investigation, the main goal of the occupiers was to sabotage the supply of strike and reconnaissance UAVs to the Ukrainian military at the front.
The attacker attempted to provide the FSB with the geolocations of the potential “target’s” administrative, production, and warehouse facilities. In addition, the Russian intelligence service hoped to obtain information from the “mole” about the facility’s operating hours and the times when the largest number of people were there.
SBU officers uncovered these plans in advance and detained the correction officer. During the searches, they seized a tablet from him, which he used for covert intelligence transmission and communication with the supervisor. According to the investigation, the man was recruited via a Telegram channel with offers of "easy money."
Currently, investigators of the Security Service have informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The perpetrator faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
