American IT company Astronomer announced that its CEO Andy Byron has resigned. A replacement is already being sought.
«As previously stated, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set standards of conduct and accountability, and recently those standards have been violated. Andy Byron has submitted his resignation, and the board of directors has accepted it,» the company said in a statement on social media.
The board of directors will now begin a search for a new CEO, with co-founder and chief operating officer Pete DeJoy serving as interim CEO.
Byron’s dismissal came after a scandal at a Coldplay concert in Boston. During the performance, a so-called kiss cam filmed Andy Byron allegedly hugging Astronomer HR director Christine Cabot. When they saw each other on the screens, Byron hid behind a fence and Cabot covered her face with her hands. It is known that Andy Byron is married.
After the video went viral and Byron was suspected of cheating, Astronomer said it had launched an internal investigation.
Byron had previously deleted his social media profile. Byron’s wife removed her married name from her Facebook profile following the incident.
