1,300 applications for hundreds of jobs on LinkedIn: how AI helped a developer get a job
A 28-year-old developer from Brazil lost his job in April. After a series of setbacks, he began using AI in October to help him apply for hundreds of jobs a day — something that would have been impossible to do physically without such a tool. In November, the Ukrainian already got a job, and such activity also promoted his LinkedIn profile well.
The developer shared his story with Business Insider, but asked that his real name not be used.
To search for work, the developer used the AI tool AIHawk, which automates the process of submitting applications for LinkedIn vacancies. It is free, the only thing is that you need to know a bit of Python to use it, which was not a problem for the Brazilian.
During the month of searching for a job, the developer submitted more than 1,300 applications: it was about 50 vacancies per day, and some of them turned into interviews.
And even though the developer was hired for a job he didn’t apply for through AIHawk. He said he found out about the position after someone from the company contacted him through LinkedIn. However, the developer believes that AIHawk played an important role in his job search. When he started using the tool, he said, he received offers from several recruiters for jobs he never applied for.
«Every day since mid-October, I’ve been getting multiple LinkedIn InMail messages from recruiters, hiring managers and company executives,» he said, adding, «This has never happened to me before.»
According to him, applying for so many jobs «pushed» his LinkedIn profile up in the platform’s algorithm, making it easier for recruiters to find him.
«As my account activity skyrocketed, my profile rose in search results, which led to my new boss finding me,» he said.
The developer recommends that AIHawk users spend time filtering out jobs that aren’t a good fit for them, and use interviews as an opportunity to practice their communication skills, which can help them land a job in the future.
Overall, the developer believes that the biggest advantage of AIHawk is the time it saves.
«Imagine if I had to do it manually?» he said, referring to the resumes he submitted with AIHawk. «I would probably go crazy.»
«Work 6 days a week according to the time tracker.» The residents of Aitiv were surprised and are discussing the vacancy of a frontend developer with a salary of UAH 15,000 and super requirements
«A great job where you got paid and you could do nothing.» Successful Haitians remember what their first job was like. And there are a lot of surprises
