«Its goal is to create solutions capable of providing technological advantage on the battlefield,» the ministry’s website states .
To this end, the Ministry of Defense has identified four challenges, described on a separate website:

«It is in these areas that teams will submit their solutions for participation in the program. At the same time, they can offer their own ideas for AI solutions for the defense sector,» the Ministry of Defense notes.
It is noted that the selection of participants in the program will take place in several stages, and up to 10 teams will be selected from among the candidates. Four of them have the opportunity to receive grants of $250,000 for each technological solution.
The Ministry of Defense adds that K4 is a new format of state interaction that intends to bring together developers, military experts, and mentors.
It is also specified that the teams will be evaluated twice — by a specially formed grant committee consisting of military experts, as well as by direct users of new technologies on the battlefield.
In addition, each team must first undergo a four-month intensive development program, which includes mentoring from experts, combat testing of their solutions, and feedback directly from the military. This is followed by six months of individual support, which must culminate in attracting investment and/or concluding a government procurement contract.
This initiative is implemented with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Defense and the Office for Effective Regulation (BRDO).
Previously, dev.ua also reported that the Ministry of Defense has developed a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which provides for the procedure and amount of monetary rewards for military personnel for the implementation and use of their innovative developments.
