As last year, the «winter support» (also known as the «vovina thousand») will include direct financial assistance that can be spent on the most urgent needs. Now there will also be separate support packages for single elderly people, large families, people living in combat zones and some other groups, the president said.
«I have instructed to work on a special transport support program for all Ukrainians, and there are already proposals from Ukrzaliznytsia — UZ-3000. He added that this program is currently being worked on by the government. There is also talk of expanding medical programs, in particular, the check-up project for adult Ukrainians, which is being prepared by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It should be operational in January.
This year’s «winter support» is scheduled to begin in December. Last year, funds could be used to pay for Ukrainian goods and services, including utilities, as well as Ukrainian medicines, train tickets, Ukrainian books, or donated to charitable foundations and the Defense Forces.
