64-year-old American created an AI app and saved thousands of dollars on lawyers in a case about his parents' inheritance

Brian Rezendes, a retiree from a small town in North Dakota with no IT background, has developed his own AI-powered platform. The application helps him process complex legal documents in an inheritance case, save on attorney fees, and create websites for his family.
The story of an elderly American vibecoder was told by Business Insider.
The need for his own tool arose after the death of Rezendes' parents, when he was overwhelmed with legal paperwork due to a dispute with his sister over an inheritance. Commercial chatbots had limits on requests and could cost hundreds of dollars per month, so the man created his own app called TrixieHQ.
The program uses OpenAI’s API and search, acting as a “legal assistant.” The AI helps the retiree analyze documents, create action plans for the court, and generate the right questions. According to the man, it has already saved him thousands of dollars.
Rezendes's introduction to technology began while working at a hardware store. Instead of climbing ladders to inventory items on the upper shelves, he began using artificial intelligence to keep track of inventory.
“I talked to a lot of people about it, and everyone thought I was crazy. Most of them remember the movie ‘Terminator,’” said Rezendes, adding that in his town of 600 people, almost no one is interested in new technologies.
In addition to the legal platform, the American uses AI tools Runway and CrewAI to create content for YouTube channels, hoping to earn passive income from traveling in the future. He also developed websites for his wife to store recipes and photos using Codex and GitHub. At the same time, the retiree jokes that his wife is not very interested in technology, sometimes gets jealous of his computer and calls his virtual AI assistant Trixie his "girlfriend."

Тест dev.ua
