Meta AI has reported nearly 500 million monthly users, TechCrunch reports. While Gemini is gaining momentum, it still lags OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which is estimated to have around 810 million by the end of 2025.
The user growth came after the release of the new Gemini 3 model, which the company claims delivers «an unprecedented level of depth and nuance.» Google CEO Sundar Pichai stressed that the introduction of Gemini 3 was a «positive factor» for the company’s growth, and stressed that continued investment and iteration will maintain this momentum.
Google has previously started making it easier for users to switch from its competitors' chatbots to its Gemini AI. The company has begun testing a feature that will allow you to import chats with all their information and media files.
Google also introduced an affordable Google AI Plus plan for $7.99 per month. It is expected to drive further growth by attracting budget-conscious consumers, although it is too recent to have an impact on quarterly figures.
Alphabet surpassed $400 billion for the first time this quarter. Google attributes this achievement to the expansion of its artificial intelligence division, and demand for this technology continues to grow (as do prices for RAM).
