According to analytics firm Draup, the number of AI-related jobs at major banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and Capital One, will increase by 49% in 2026 compared to last year.
The fastest growing demand is for AI agent orchestration—the ability to build a process in which multiple agents perform different parts of a task and communicate the results to each other. For example, one agent can verify input data, another can analyze a document, and a third can check the result for compliance with banking regulations.
At the same time, banks are increasingly seeking knowledge about tools for agent systems. Mentions of LangGraph (a tool for building multi-step AI processes and agents) increased by 679%, LlamaIndex (a framework for connecting AI to corporate data) increased by 291%, and RAG (an approach in which AI searches external or internal databases for the necessary information before responding) increased by 259%.
The demand for people to oversee such systems is also growing. Mentions of skills related to the safe and responsible use of AI increased by 657%, AI governance and policies by 394%, and risk management by 359%. The median base salary for generative AI managers in banks, according to Draup, is about $190,000 per year.
Previously, dev.ua reported that new professions related to AI are already appearing on the Ukrainian IT market, in particular "agent operators" - specialists who configure and monitor the operation of agent systems.
