He said in an interview with «Military» that the daytime camera is capable of spotting targets at distances of up to 1 km, the wide-angle lens helps assess obstacles near the NRC, and the thermal imaging camera can detect a target at 600-700 meters regardless of weather conditions.
«There is a mode for any change in the picture, that is, when any object moves, a signal is sent to the UGV operator. And there is a mode when people are detected,» Poritsky said.
He noted that the company used a lot of battlefield footage to train the AI to read the movement of military equipment or people.
Previously, DevDroid co-founder Oleg Prots said that there is no problem in making the company’s turrets fully autonomous, but that there are «a lot of legal conflicts.»
«Who will be responsible in the event of, God forbid, ‘friendly fire’? Anything can happen on the front line,» he noted. In his opinion, the final shot should be fired by an operator who receives all the information about the target from the AI.
