In first place in terms of the number of closures are individual entrepreneurs working in retail trade - 77,705. On average, such businesses have existed for less than 3 years.
IT ranks second in terms of the number of closed sole proprietorships, although by a large margin — 28,668 or every ninth entrepreneur who closed last year. At the same time, IT professionals are among the entrepreneurs who, on average, work the longest.
IT and computer repair are among the top five leading sole proprietorships in terms of number of years of existence.
Entrepreneurs engaged in computer repair are in third place. Their average lifespan is 5.8 years.
IT rounds out the top five — on average, such sole proprietors have been working for 3.9 years.
Every eighth entrepreneur who closed in 2025 worked in Kyiv: 32,469 individual entrepreneurs. The Dnipro region is in second place in terms of closures — 22,645 entrepreneurs ceased their activities last year. Small businesses closed with a small margin in Kharkiv (20,481), Odesa (18,714) and Lviv (16,521).
