According to Reuters, the decision was made after the murder of a teenager last month, as the incident raised concerns about the impact of social media on children.
The Albanian Prime Minister has accused TikTok of causing violence among young people in and outside schools.
«The problem today is not with our children, the problem today is with us, the problem today is with our society, the problem today is with TikTok and everyone else who is taking our children hostage,» he said.
At the same time, a TikTok spokesperson says the company has found no evidence that «the perpetrator or victim had TikTok accounts.» He says the videos that led to the murder were on other social media platforms.

Recall that in November in Albania, a 14-year-old schoolboy was stabbed to death by a classmate. Local media reported that the incident occurred after an argument between the two boys on social media. Videos of minors supporting the murder also allegedly appeared on TikTok.
Parents in France have previously accused TikTok of exposing minors to harmful content, which they say has led to suicides.
