The slides show that AWS is including this marketplace in its core AI services, such as Bedrock and Quick Suite, and is positioning the solution as a product that will help publishers grow their businesses.
The announcement of the new marketplace comes amid ongoing negotiations between publishers and AI companies over how to use online content, both for training models and generating responses to users. Publishers are pushing for licensing fees that will increase based on how much their content is used.
An Amazon spokesperson said the company "has no specific information to share" on this, but noted that they have built long-term relationships with publishers and continue to innovate.
