It demonstrated the RAM-2X attack drone with an X-shaped wing, reminiscent of the Russian Lancet, and a new kamikaze drone of the flying wing type, which is similar to a smaller version of the Iranian-Russian Shahed UAV.

It demonstrated the RAM-2X attack drone with an X-shaped wing, reminiscent of the Russian Lancet, and a new kamikaze drone of the flying wing type, which is similar to a smaller version of the Iranian-Russian Shahed UAV.
«Drones of domestic production, as well as those created in Ukraine in cooperation with German companies, were presented at the exhibition. In particular, one of the drones uses automatic homing systems with artificial intelligence produced by German companies. Another is the result of the work of a localized German company, which opened a center in Ukraine for the production and maintenance of already delivered equipment», — the President’s Office said in a statement.
The technical characteristics of this product are not disclosed, however, based on the photo, the publication «Military» concludes that the drone is equipped with an electric motor, antennas for communication with the operator and a fixed video camera.
Despite the visual appearance reminiscent of the Shahed UAV, the Ukrainian drone is probably not a long-range drone for destroying infrastructure, but a kamikaze for destroying targets at a distance of «tens» of kilometers deep into enemy territory.
This configuration puts this Ukrainian development in the niche of the Russian attack drone «Lancet». Judging by its dimensions, such a UAV can carry a warhead weighing at least several kilograms.
For the first time, the prototype of this drone was shown back in April 2024. It is capable of hitting targets both on the ground and in the air thanks to its high speed and powerful warhead. The drone is equipped with an electric motor and is launched from a catapult.
The X-shaped fuselage, like the Lancet, provides it with high maneuverability and the ability to hit static and moving targets at various angles, including approaching the target at a right angle.
RAM-2X can carry a warhead weighing up to 3 kg, which has different variations: fragmentation, thermobaric or cumulative with a shock core. In particular, a fragmentation warhead with contact detonation or detonation on the operator’s signal can be used to intercept aerial targets.
High speed — up to 180 km per hour — allows the drone to intercept operationally tactical reconnaissance UAVs of the «Orlan» type, and even pose a threat to helicopters on oncoming courses.
A repeater drone works in tandem with the RAM-2X, which performs the tasks of finding a target, tracking it in anticipation of a strike drone, and objectively monitoring the consequences of a hit. Thanks to the repeater, the drone is capable of hitting targets at distances of more than 100 km. The strike drone can operate in the conditions of anti-EW and is equipped with a homing system.
In April, it was reported that the RAM-2X unmanned complex is still at the proving stage. But it takes place under the conditions of operation in the combat zone, where the drone has already successfully destroyed a certain amount of enemy equipment, «Military» notes.
We will remind you that on the night of Tuesday, November 26, Russia launched a record number of drones over Ukraine — the Defense Forces had to repel an attack by 188 UAVs. The production facilities of the Russian Federation are constantly trying to increase the number of released Shahed kamikaze drones per month, and if in February of this year we were talking about 300-500 such drones, then by the end of 2024 their number may approach 900 units.
Previously, the manufacturer of combat FPV drones «Wild Hornets» (Wild Hornets) revealed the details of its classified Sting drone. It is much cheaper than the Iranian Shahed-136, which will be intercepted over Ukraine.
