Apple is preparing three wearable devices with artificial intelligence
Late last month, it was reported that Apple was developing a wearable AI device — an AirTag-sized pendant with cameras that could be attached to a user's shirt. Now, it's been reported that the company plans to accelerate development of this device and two others to stay competitive with other tech giants.
Late last month, it was reported that Apple was developing a wearable AI device — an AirTag-sized pendant with cameras that could be attached to a user's shirt. Now, it's been reported that the company plans to accelerate development of this device and two others to stay competitive with other tech giants.
In addition to the AI pendant, Apple is also accelerating development of its upcoming AI-powered smart glasses, codenamed N50, TechCrunch reports .
Apple has obvious competition in this niche, as other companies — including Meta (which is currently perhaps the most successful player in the smart glasses segment) and Snap (which plans to release its “Specs” later this year) — are already working on similar products.
Apple's new smart glasses, which are said to feature a high-resolution camera, could be coming soon. The company plans to start production as early as December, with a public release in 2027.
Additionally, Apple is working on AirPods with new artificial intelligence capabilities.
All of these devices will be designed to connect to the iPhone, and Siri, the company's virtual assistant, will be a critical component of the user experience. At the same time, the glasses are described as "more premium and feature-rich" than the AirPods and the AI pendant.
