German defense-tech company ARX Robotics, which supplies drones to the Defense Forces, has unveiled the Hector unmanned ground transport. The drone runs on the company’s Mithra OS.
The company’s press release notes that Hector supports optional crewing, which gives units greater flexibility and expands mission profiles.
«European land units lack a mid-range, mass-produced unmanned ground vehicle that can keep pace with maneuver elements while maintaining safe, controlled autonomy and seamless integration with existing command structures. Hector is designed to fill this gap,» ARX Robotics explained.
The NRK will be available in two versions. The internal combustion engine version provides a range of up to 350 km and a speed of up to 120 km/h. The all-electric version is quieter and has a lower thermal signature. Both versions use a common modular chassis, load-ready interfaces, encrypted communications, and an ARX Robotics onboard computing module running Mithra OS to provide autonomy.
ARX Robotics has previously received a new major contract in Ukraine for the supply of GEREON unmanned ground systems. The order involves the formation of the world’s largest fleet of military ground robotics, which will number several hundred machines and operate as a single network.
