Ukrposhta says that similar auctions are held by international postal operators such as Amazon, USPS, FedEx, Royal Mail and many others. In the winter of 2025, the company said that it had already held 163 auctions with an average lot price of UAH 14,000 to UAH 25,000.
«Since the launch, we have seen people find everything in the lots — from tablets to bicycle frames. It is a drive, excitement, and at the same time an opportunity for business. Someone gets profitable goods for resale, and someone — content for social networks. We don’t know what will be in your box. But we guarantee — it won’t be boring!», said Ihor Smilyansky, General Director of Ukrposhta.
It was noted that the company’s warehouses contain «tens of thousands» of unclaimed parcels that have been stored there for over six months.
All lots are sold by Ukrposhta exclusively through online auctions on the Prozorro.Sales platform. Current lots are available at the link. Currently, about 427 offers are available on the platform.
Postal items that the recipient has not picked up within two weeks are sent back to the sender by Ukrposhta. If the sender also does not pick up the parcel within two weeks, it is sent to a specially equipped warehouse, where it is stored for six months.
During this period, both the recipient and the sender have the right to claim the parcel upon request. If for some reason they do not do so, the parcel can now be sold at auction.
No — Ukrposhta packs all uncollected parcels into large lots of 100 pieces, and sells them that way.
The company says that offers to purchase a specific package come exclusively from scammers.
No one checks or sorts the contents of the packages. When lots are formed, the packages are not opened.
Shipments that have expired are either sold or disposed of. It all depends on the appearance of the packaging. If the box is intact and looks good (without signs that something is damaged inside), then the parcel is sold. Otherwise, it is disposed of.
The employees who pack the lots don’t know what’s inside. They take the shipment and put it in the lot in the same condition it arrived at the warehouse.
The process of packing lots is under strict control. Everything takes place in special areas where video surveillance is installed from several cameras. This guarantees transparency and security.
Currently, lots can only be picked up in five cities: Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Ternopil, and Mykolaiv.
Winners have two options to receive the prize:
Pick up yourself: If the auction winner is in the same city where the lot was put up for sale, you can simply come and pick it up in person.
Order delivery: If the winner is from another city, he can order delivery of the lot to the desired address.
