Recently, an experimental Sandbox project was launched in Ukraine, which allows innovative startups to receive free expertise in developing products based on artificial intelligence and blockchain.
Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov, in a comment to DOU, shared some details of the project.
«We will measure how Sandbox has affected startups' investment attraction, changes in technology readiness for the market (TRL), and how much startups themselves assess the impact of Sandbox on improving their product. The number of solutions from project participants that have been implemented in government services will also be an indicator,» he explains.
According to him, project participants will be able to receive up to three individual consultations from specialists, and the team is already largely complete — there are 12 experts, and four more are undergoing onboarding: in particular, these are business analysts, lawyers on personal data processing, intellectual property, and technical specialists in AI and blockchain.
«These are practitioners who have from 6 to 20 years of experience in the field of innovation. For example, Yevheniy Bachynskyi from Sigma Software,» he added.
Startups will be able to receive consultations within the project online or in writing. They are also promised easier access to communication with government agencies, and according to Bornyakov, this is not only about the audit, but also about the opportunity to present their product to the state as a potential client.
«In the Sandbox, we can test how easily companies will adapt to international standards and where there are bottlenecks that we need to take into account in the legislation,» the Deputy Minister said.
As dev.ua previously wrote, the Ministry of Digital and the Ukrainian Startup Fund launched Sandbox — a free audit for promising projects.
Participants can be Ukrainian startups that create AI or blockchain solutions for key areas — public administration, education, medicine, defense, digital economy, energy, transport, etc.
