«This is part of a coordinated campaign aimed at destabilizing the situation and recruiting potential perpetrators of terrorist attacks, which will result in the death of these perpetrators from the actions of the Russians, or criminal liability. Such bots are used to collect personal information, which allows the enemy to carry out further manipulation and blackmail,» the Center for Countering Disinformation said in a statement.
The new mailing also includes a call to Ukrainians to «Burn the CCC.» According to the military, in this way the Russians are trying to create a «media image» for the Russian media. Through such notifications, they want to show the alleged presence of an anti-Ukrainian underground in the regions.
The CPD urges you not to provide personal data to the bot under any circumstances, and not to open messages if you receive them with calls to spread similar content.
Russian intelligence services also use bots for information gathering and blackmail.
