The developers mentioned support for Ukrainian even before the release, but on the eve of the game’s release, they updated the list of localizations in ARC Raiders, and it disappeared from the list. However, three months after the release, the extraction shooter ARC Raiders unexpectedly received Ukrainian text localization .
It appeared with a major update that added seven new tasks to the game, a new raider project, a number of improvements, and new game conditions on the maps. The Ukrainian language did not appear in the list of official languages, but attentive players noticed that it can be activated by specifying the culture=uk condition in the ARC Raiders launch parameters.
Ukrainian users noted that the localization really doesn’t look complete — some sections were not translated, in others players suspected machine translation, and the font used was the default for the Unreal Engine 5 engine.
In a new patch for ARC Raiders, the developers confirmed that work on localization is still ongoing. They noted that they have fixed an issue that caused «parts of the Ukrainian localization to randomly appear» in the game.
«We are actively working on a full translation of ARC Raiders into Ukrainian and other languages and will release it as soon as everything is ready,» Embark Studios assured.
