According to The Times, Lloyds Banking Group has become the first leading company from the UK to implement artificial intelligence at such a high level.
The AI bot, which received such a high status, was developed by the company Board Intelligence, and is designed to help the bank’s board of directors analyze confidential information and prepare for meetings, and is also supposed to «fight prejudice» when making decisions.
According to Board Intelligence representatives, the AI bot is trained to make recommendations on cybersecurity, sustainability, financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and many other corporate development issues — as well as analyze the performance of management and employees.
Meanwhile, according to the bank itself, in 2025, AI tools helped the financial institution create added value of £50 million, and by the end of this year, Lloyds wants to double this amount.
It is also interesting that Lloyds Banking Group recently announced the completion of a nine-month experiment with quantum computing, conducted in collaboration with IBM — together they investigated how quantum algorithms can help prevent economic crimes.
«Early research by our team has identified several areas where quantum computing can outperform classical methods, including anomaly detection to understand fraudulent or criminal behavior,» the bank said on its official website.
They also added that preventing economic crimes, in particular identifying «mule» accounts, requires analyzing very complex networks of financial transactions, with which traditional computers can have difficulty.
Recall that the Mayor of London invited Anthropic to expand its presence in the UK capital amid the company’s conflict in the US.
