An official of one of the village councils in the Lviv region is suspected of abusing his official position when purchasing Mavic drones for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the Cyber Police Department, the official intentionally overestimated the expected cost of the UAV, causing property damage to the village council in the amount of UAH 1.5 million.
In total, the official made purchases worth about UAH 8 million.
The person involved in the case was placed under 24-hour house arrest and faces up to six years in prison.

Let us recall that the year before last, a scandal arose over the purchase of drones by the State Special Communications Service: journalists calculated that officials could have overpaid UAH 600 million for Autel UAVs for the «Army of Drones» in 2023 .
