Thus, as Reuters writes, the US government has partially relaxed its own restrictions imposed «due to national security risks.»
«Today, the government informed us that Mythos 5, our strongest cybersecurity model, may be transferred to a number of U.S. organizations that manage and protect critical infrastructure,» Anthropic said in a statement.
Citing its own informed source, the publication states that more than 100 American companies and institutions, including many Fortune 500 companies, will now have access to Mythos 5.
«We are quickly restoring access for these organizations and continue to work with the government to expand access to Mythos 5 and make Fable 5 publicly available again,» the company added.
Concerns that powerful artificial intelligence models could be used by military intelligence in China, Russia and other countries have prompted the Donald Trump administration to take an aggressive approach to overseeing the AI models of Anthropic and its main competitor OpenAI.
Earlier in the day, OpenAI said it was delaying the full public launch of GPT-5.6 at the request of the US government, limiting access to the models to a small group of verified partners whose data has been shared with authorities.
Meanwhile, Anthropic was suddenly forced to disable access to its most advanced AI models — Mythos 5 and Fable 5 — for all users following a government export control order on June 12.
