CompetAI startup, co-founded and led by serial entrepreneur Dmytro Koshkaryov, is completing back-end product development and is preparing for a marketing launch. How much was invested in this web service and how does it work?
According to Dmitry Koshkaryov, the idea to create CompetAI arose while working at his marketing agency, seven mountains. As he told Vector in an interview, the startup’s goal is to make marketing tools (competitor, market, target audience analysis) accessible to small businesses.
«Working with clients from different fields, we were constantly convinced that they had problems with the strategic level. In 2024, we began work on implementing a project to adapt our own competitor analysis methodology. We also simultaneously trained a marketing AI model and developed an analysis script», — said Koshkaryov.
He added that the service is currently in the process of completing back-end development, and the team is preparing for a marketing release. There are no plans to expand the development team yet, but in the future it may be strengthened by attracting a full stack web developer, QA, and support specialists.
How CompetAI works
The startup describes its product as a web service for analyzing and researching competitors using AI. By linking to a product or service category, CompetAI analyzes a company based on a number of criteria, searches for competitors, groups them, analyzes and compares them, provides conclusions, practical recommendations, and converts the result into a PDF document.
«We also saturate the analysis with training blocks and statistics to increase the level of marketing knowledge of users. CompetAI performs the analysis in five minutes, while manually it would take more than 20 hours (if a person knows how to do it),» says Dmytro.
According to him, the startup first wants to bring CompetAI to the Ukrainian market, but the key market is the US. The product will work on B2B and B2C models, and will be monetized through a one-time purchase or a quarterly, semi-annual or annual subscription for access.
CompetAI developers have already invested $20,000 of their own money into the project. They plan to raise $50,000 to complete the product and launch it, and another $60,000 in the next stage.
